Communicating Cultural Anthropology Research
The objective of this seminar is to prepare PhD or MA students of Cultural Anthropology in communicating their research to the international community. The seminar covers various aspects of communication, including writing e-mails and various types of academic papers, book and peer reviews, and presentation of papers at international conferences.

Week 1: Introduction and writing process Week 2: Structure of papers, unity and coherence Week 3: Comparison and contrast, cause and effect Week 4: Presenting an argument Week 5: Finding sources, paraphrasing and summarizing Week 6: Literature review, writing abstracts, peer and book review Week 7: Journal papers Week 8: Interviewing, Formal emails Week 9: Presentation – structure, opening and closing Week 10: Presentation – visual aids, body language, difficult questions Week 11: Final presentations by students Week 12: Social communication at conferences Week 13: Completing your thesis, course wrap-up
授業の方法
The seminar includes lectures, class discussions, writing exercises, and a final presentation by students.
成績評価方法
Student participation: 40% Writing exercises: 20% Final presentation: 40%
