全学自由研究ゼミナール(PEAK)(Tokugawa Cities) (A History of Tokyo)
A History of Tokyo
This course looks at the history of Tokyo to examine issues related to the production and organization of space in the context of the city. Although the overall framework is historical, the course will cover topics relating to the creation of public and private spaces; space and identity through the everyday; political economy and the built environment; and representations of space in literature, maps and films. The class content will briefly cover the Edo period before examining various moments of Tokyo’s history up until the 1970s.
