Introduction to Security Studies
This is an introductory course to the field of security studies. It provides an overview of the major theories and concepts in security studies. Also, it covers history, development and the future of national and international security.

In this course, you will consider questions such as: Why is war a persistent feature of international relations? What factors make it more likely that states will resolve their differences and avoid war? How have weapons of mass destruction changed the practice of international relations? And what are the prospects for national and international security in the future?

As a result of completing this course, you will be able to:
-Develop an understanding of the main concepts and terminology in security studies.
-Know the history, evolution and current aspects of national and international security.
-Understand and analyze modern security challenges.
-Be able to identify current trends in security studies.
-Compare and assess the different causes of internal and international military conflicts.
-Consider pathways to interstate peace.
