Introduction to regionalism: how do states cope with neighbors?
The world is divided into regions. Interaction among states in each has unique dynamics and distinctive features, producing specific types of conflicts and cooperation. This course aims to understand regionalism: how states deal with their neighbours. Beginning with the introduction of theoretical perspectives on regionalism, students will learn how regionalism is observed in a wide range of issues and in various regions.
The first part of this course is lecture-based. In the second part, students should join in case studies in various regions with their short presentation. Students are required to write a short paper on the relevant topic.
