Economics of the Family
This course covers theoretical and empirical studies on economics of the family and related policies. Topics include marriage market matching, collective household decision making, parental leave policies, early childhood education, etc.

授業計画
About a third of the course is in the lecture style, which covers matching theory, collective household bargaining model, and surveys of economic analysis of family policies. In the remaining two thirds, we will read and discuss two papers per session. The papers are chosen by the instructor and presented by students. A list of the papers will be given on the first day of class and students are required to sign up for presentation on a google spreadsheet.

履修上の注意
Students must have taken Labor Economics I (Prof. Kawaguchi/Kondo) or Empirical Microeconomics (Prof. Griffen) or had equivalent knowledge. No auditing is allowed without instructor’s written consent.
This course is offered every other year. The next time this course is offered is A1-2 terms in 2022.
