Topics in Labor Economics
Topics in labor economics.
We read and discuss papers on various topics in (broadly defined) labor economics from top academic journals. Topics include, but not limited to, labor supply, labor demand, labor mobility, minimum wage, discrimination, education, inequality, etc.
All students and the professor must read two assigned papers before each class. Students are also required to submit a one-page referee report for each paper as a preparation for the class. Each paper is presented by a participant (maybe the professor), but everyone else is expected to ask a question or make a comment.
You may find this class challenging, but I am sure that we will have very productive discussion. Indeed, it was exciting last year.

履修上の注意
Students must have taken Labor Economics I (Prof. Kawaguchi/Kondo) or Empirical Microeconomics (Prof. Griffen) or had equivalent knowledge. No auditing is allowed unless the professor gives written consent.
This course is offered every other year. The next time this course is offered is A1-2 terms in 2023.
