Economic Analysis of Pandemics
To learn mathematical and statistical tools to analyze understand the implication of various policies during pandemics. To become familiar with facts and policy issues related to the Covid-19 crisis.

授業計画
We cover various analytical tools related to management of pandemics with focus on the analysis of recent Covid-19 crisis.
The topic covered are (i) SIR model, (ii) macro-SIR model, (iii) causal inferences on the effect of NPIs for infection, education, and economic activity, (iv) empirical analysis of past pandemics, and (v) Covid-19 policies in Japan, among others.
