チベット＝ビルマ記述言語学研究
この授業では、個別言語の記述研究を志す、あるいは関心を持つ学生が言語記述に関する多角的な視点を養うことを目標とする。そのために，チベット・ビルマ（TB）系言語の様々な文法現象やその文法記述上の問題点について，講師が研究対象とするビルマ語群の言語からの事例，および他のTB言語の文法参考書から引いた事例を観察・検討する。

This course aims to enable students who intend to pursue or are interested in descriptive studies of individual languages to develop multifaceted perspectives on language description. This is achieved by observing and examining various phenomena and issues in the grammatical description of Tibeto-Burman (TB) languages. Examples are drawn from the lecturer's research on the languages of the Burmish branch and from reference grammars on other TB languages.

授業計画
この授業で扱う現象・問題としては次のようなものを考えている。
- 文法的に条件付けられた声調交替
- 語類（特に，属性概念語の扱い）
- 接辞vs.接語
- 時間解釈の体系
- 名詞句構造
- 格標示と項構造
- 複動詞構造（動詞連続・複合動詞）
- 方向範疇の記号化
- 単純（被使役）-使役動詞対
- 親族関係名称
（未定の2回分については，受講者の希望を承けて決定する。）

The phenomena and issues to be addressed in this course include the following:
- Grammatically conditioned tonal alternations
- Word classes (especially treatment of property-concept words)
- Affixes vs. clitics
- System of temporal interpretation
- Noun phrase structure
- Case marking and argument structure
- Multi-verb constructions (verb concatenations/compound verbs)
- Encoding directional categories
- Plain(non-Causative)-Causative pairs of verbs
- Kinship terms
(The topics for the two remaining sessions will be determined based on student preferences.)

原則1回につき1つの文法現象あるいは記述上の問題について講師が例を挙げ，それについて議論を行う。
