批判的死生学 Critical Studies on Death and Life
この演習の目的は、死と社会、文化との関連について、政治・経済的観点を踏まえながら、批判的に考察する能力を養うことである。今期は、Timothy O. Benedict, Spiritual Ends: Religion and the Heart of Dying in Japanを読む。本書は日本のホスピスでのフィールドワークにもとづ民族誌である。グローバルなホスピス運動とスピリチュアルケアの実践を、比較文化的に考察し、スピリチュアルケアを批判的に考察することを目指す。
The purpose of this seminar is to develop the ability to critically examine the relationship between death, society, and culture, taking into account political and economic perspectives. This term, read Timothy O. Benedict, Spiritual Ends: Religion and the Heart of Dying in Japan. This book is an ethnography based on fieldwork in a Japanese hospice. We aim to examine the global hospice movement and spiritual care practices from a comparative cultural perspective and to critically reflect on spiritual care.
