応用日本語(5)日常会話・メール(L4-L3)

応用日本語(5)日常会話・メール・敬語(L4-L3)/Applied Japanese (5) : Everyday Conversation, Email and Formal Expressions (L4-L3)
This course is designed for students at the L4 and L3 level or equivalent. The aim of this course is for students to develop the ability to explain academic content accurately and efficiently in addition to their everyday conversation skills. Students will enhance these skills through various discussions and group work activities.

Specifically, by the end of the course, students are expected to be able to:

1) Use the Japanese language appropriately for various purposes in daily life, considering the relationship between themselves and others (such as power dynamics and intimacy), while speaking.
2) Express their thoughts and positions on academic topics.
3) Furthermore, develop the ability to provide evidence-based arguments to support their views.
4) Express themselves in written communication between formal writing and spoken language, such as emails and social media, using Japanese.

Each session consists of self-study and class activities. Through oral practice, small talk sessions, and other activities, students should strive to communicate fluently and spontaneously in specific situations.

Taking elective courses is highly recommended for developing your overall language skills, since mandatory courses focus on vocabulary and grammatical knowledge, and less on practical skills and performance. Synergy effects can be expected from taking the electives along with the mandatory and the other elective courses.
