- Students set their own learning goals and create their own study plans to achieve them. Students also search for learning materials on their own and select those best suited to their individual learning goals. While instructors provide support for students in setting goals, creating plans, and selecting materials, they do not conduct teacher-led, whole-class lectures.
- Possible physical resources are published learning materials, books, dictionaries, newspapers, magazines, videos, CDs, online software tools, and so forth. Materials and persons outside the classroom may also be resources.
- There are Teaching Assistants for this course.
