Comparative Analysis on Regional Organizations as Security Actors
Regions have different security dynamics and threats. This course aims to understand regional security and conflict management by regional organizations. It consists of two parts. The first part aims to develop theoretical perspectives on international system, state sovereignty, security, regional organizations, conflict management in order to understand behaviors of states and regional organizations to maintain their own security and institutions. In the second part, we examine case studies on what security threats are and how they are dealt with by regional organizations in six regions; Europe, America, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Eurasia.

授業の方法
This course has a seminar style where students will choose topics listed in course schedule, summarise arguments of materials in these topics and present points for discussion. In the end of the course, all students are required to write a final paper. 15 minutes before class will be set aside for questions, and students who wish to ask questions during that period should submit them in advance via UTOL.
成績評価方法
participation (20%), presentation (40%), final paper (40%)
