東アジア教養学演習I（１）a
Introduction to Liberal Education: Seminar
Through reading several classic texts--or what we call "modern classics"--this course invites the participants to intervene into some problematics in our time which are urgent, timely, pressing, as well as out-of-time, embarrassing, obfuscating. They include but not limited to: what is East Asia; what is human-being; what is translation; what kind of way of life is valuable and why? Students are encouraged to raise more questions by themselves through reading the given texts closely and share their ideas with each other.

*PLEASE NOTE* If you decide to enroll in this course, you are REQUIRED to simultaneously enroll in "東アジア教養学演習II (1) a," which is an TA session directed and organized by several teaching assistants. TA session is specifically designed for discussion among student participants.
*All sessions will be held in the seminar room; participation via zoom is permissible, in principle, only for the students from Hongo campus.
