東アジア教養学理論I(2)a

Being Critical: Thinking With Chris Marker
What is critical today? How can we be critical in this world? This course is aimed at deepening this question regarding the term "critical" by getting hints from Chris Marker (1921-2012), a French filmmaker, who traveled across the world, including East Asia, after WWII. Through viewing, analyzing, and thinking critically about his works, such as Sunday in Peking (1956), La Jetée (1962), Sans Soleil (1983), and Level Five (1997), we will jump into the prophetic problem.
