The course will take multiple teaching methods. Primarily two methods are used: lectures and discussion, and exercises (role play). The first 3 classes will be lecture style. The rest will be with a brief lecture on the topic, followed by team discussion, Universal Periodic Review (UPR) roleplay and plenary feedback and discussion.

Class participation (including role play) 40%, Reaction papers (not requirement in all the classes) 20%, Final report 40%

The course instructor used to work at the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN-OHCHR), which supports all UN human rights mechanisms. Her experience and knowledge will be used in navigating the UPR practice sessions. コースの担当教員は東京大学に赴任前まで国連人権高等弁務官事務所に勤務しており、そこでの経験や得られた知識などを使って人権普遍的審査の演習をナビゲートする。
