東アジア国際関係史

This course provides an overview of international relations in East Asia. The first part aims to help students understand the historical background and structure of international relations in this region, covering the roles played by major powers and other states, as well as how domestic developments affect international relations. During this part, students’ understanding of the assigned readings is checked and discussed in class. Students must complete the required reading before each class. The second part seeks a comprehensive understanding of the various conflicting issues surrounding contemporary international relations in East Asia. In this part, students give a presentation on a chosen topic, with the ultimate goal of writing a strong paper based on that topic.
