音声分析
Phonetic Analysis
本授業では、言語音を音響分析しながら実験音韻論の手法を学ぶ。具体的には以下のことを学ぶ。
- 言語音の母音、子音、超文節音、声質の音響的な特徴を知る
- 音響分析をするのに適切な録音を行う
- 音響分析ソフトを用いて音響分析を行う
- 実験をデザインするところから始めて実験を行い、口頭発表とレポートの形で結果を発表する
We will learn the basic techniques for analyzing speech sounds with respect to their acoustic properties. This involves:
- Getting familiarized with the acoustic properties of vowels, consonants, suprasegmentals and phonation types.
- Recording data using appropriate settings for recording equipment
- Performing acoustic analysis using software
- Designing an experiment and reporting the results in written and oral formats

授業の方法
The lecture provides the basic concepts and methodology of phonetics, phonology and experimental phonology. There will be also hands-on exercises based on the lecture of the day. Students will use their own laptop computer to analyze sounds. Students will work on individual projects on their own by designing an experiment, recording a speaker, analyzing sounds (measurements) before making a conclusion.
The lecture will be conducted mainly in Japanese. 授業では日本語を使用します。

Participation: 10%

Individual project report paper: 25%
