芸術作品分析法IV

楽器の演奏は、人類の長い歴史の中で絶えることなく、世界の至る所で行なわれてきました。芸術作品と称されるような演奏は、そのごく一部でしかありませんが、楽器演奏が、知力、身体、精神を要する非常に高度な行為であることに変わりありません。
この授業では、日本でのヴァイオリンの受容史を学びます。対象とする時期は近世から明治期で、豊富な図像史料と文字史料を用いて、ヴァイオリン演奏の様相の移り変わりを辿ります。
各受講生は自身の関心に沿って楽器演奏にまつわる事象について調査、考察します。この学びを通して、人と音楽との関わりあいの多様な在り方について知り、視野を広げることを目指します。
それと並行して、受講生自らがヴァイオリン（或いはそれ以外の楽器）の実技の実習に取り組みます。楽器を実際に演奏してみると、知識がより深化するのは勿論ですし、この実習が、音楽に限らない様々な分野に通用するような創造力を高めるきっかけになることを期待しています。ヴァイオリン実技実習については、初心者から上級者まで幅広く受け入れます。

Playing musical instruments has been practiced throughout the world in the long history of mankind. Although only a small portion of these performances are called works of art, there is no doubt that playing musical instruments is still an extremely sophisticated activity that requires intellectual, physical, and spiritual power.
In this class, students will study the history of the reception of the violin from early modern period to the Meiji period. We will trace the changing aspects of violin playing using a wealth of iconographic and textual historical documents.
Each student will research and discuss events related to playing musical instruments according to his or her own interests. Through this study, students will broaden their perspectives on the diversity of the relationship between human and music.
At the same time, students will engage in practical training on the violin (or other instruments). I hope that this practical training will help them to deepen their knowledge and enhance their creativity, which is applicable not only to music but also to various other fields. As for the violin practical training, I accept a wide range of students from beginners to advanced.
