The goal is to become more familiar with Deep Learning, which is the current architecture behind most of the incredible recent advances in AI. I expect students take turns presenting sections from the book by explaining the concepts and running the code. In the first class I will explain how to run python in Google Colab (or on your local computer). I will also prepare some side readings about issues in AI so we can learn both coding and AI policy. I am thinking we will spend maybe 70 minutes coding and maybe 30 minutes discussing the reading and issues around AI.

The course assumes no prior knowledge coding knowledge - just a positive attitude and willingness to learn! Particularly with the use of LLMs it has become much easier to understand and implement code. The course will be conducted in English but all background levels of English are welcome to attend. Usually several exchange students attend the zemi so it's also a good opportunity for culture exchange.
