Economic Analysis of Pandemics
You will learn both theoretical and empirical analyses related to pandemics.
You will learn tools that are aimed to at analyzing the causal effects of policy interventions on infection and the economy. More generally, You will see various econometric methods in the context of Covid-19 crisis.
You will learn analyses that were actually used as input to policy during the Covid-19 crisis in Japan. You will learn what happened during the Covid-19 crisis through research papers.
You will meet people who were conducting policy-oriented research and/or providing their analysis to the Japanese government in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis.
