博物館資料保存論
博物館資料保存論／Conservation of Museum Collections
博物館における資料の保存環境（展示環境、収蔵環境）を科学的に捉え、資料を良好な状態で保存していくための知識の習得を通じて資料保存に関する基礎的能力を養う。
博物館において資料を保存する意義、博物館資料を劣化させる要因とそれへの対処法、傷んだ資料を修復する場合の考え方と方法、適切に資料保存を行う環境条件、博物館資料の災害対策と緊急時の対処法、そして保存と活用とを両立させる方向性などについて、具体的な実例を紹介しながら講義を行う。人文的な資料保存の考え方ばかりでなく、自然系資料保存の考え方と方法についても取り上げる。
Basic ability on the conservation of museum collections will be trained through educations of methods for keeping collections in good conditions and understanding scientific conditions of conservation environment of museum collections.
The lecture will be focused on detailed examples such as,
the meaning of the "Conservation of Museum Collections,"
the factor of deterioration of museum collections and the countermeasures,
ways of thinking and methods of the restoration of deteriorated collections,
appropriate environmental conditions for the conservation of collections,
disaster management and emergency response,
and compatibility of conservation and utilization of collections.
Ways of thinking on the conservation of collections of natural history will be also discussed as well as cultural collections.

履修上の注意
期間中に、資料保存という観点から、博物館を一か所は訪れてください。それについて、レポートの課題を出します。実際に訪れるのが困難な場合には、ネット上で博物館資料を見学することでも構いません。
Please visit at least one museum from the viewpoint of conservation during the period. An assignment on a report will be given about that. When it is difficult to visit museums actually, please try to observe objects of on-line museums instead.
