数理臨床研究入門
近年臨床研究の重要性は、コロナ禍の時期に顕著になってきた。コロナ禍の時期には、基礎科学では、有効性の可能があるワクチン、治療薬の候補が発見されたとのニュースが報道された。しかしながら実際に承認され医療機関で使用できるワクチン数、治療薬の数は限られている。医療管理におけるデータ科学の基礎知識を習得し、臨床試験・疫学における数理統計学の問題を考察し、数理統計学の医療分野での貢献を考察する。
With the COVID-19 pandemic, clinical practice along with clinical research is becoming more important and essential to understand. During the COVID era, media reported promising vaccines and treatments, however, only a limited number of vaccines and treatments were approved. In this course, Data Science for Health care and issues concerning theoretical statistics in clinical trials and epidemiology will be reviewed and investigated. Finally, we will discuss the importance and contribution of theoretical statistics on medical care.

実務経験と授業科目の関連性
竹内正弘教授（東京大学大学院数理科学研究科特任教授）は、ハーバード大学、FDA、北里大学で臨床統計学の研究、実務に携わり、厚生労働省，文部科学省、医薬品医療機器総合機構、東京大学医科学研究所などにおいて各種委員会の委員を務め、また、大阪大学、東京大学、慶応義塾大学と共同研究を行い、その他10以上の大学で、客員教授、非常勤講師を務めるなど、臨床統計学の発展に寄与している。この授業では、臨床統計の理論のみならず、現場での豊富な経験に基づく話題が提供される。
