In this course, professors from Columbia University and University of Michigan Law School will teach, in English, selected issues confronting contemporary American law. While teaching styles vary among visiting professors, classes will generally follow the American law school tradition, emphasizing a Socratic method of instruction (interactive question-and-answer discussion) based on prior preparation of assigned reading materials.
Note that the class schedule is irregular: the course meets twice a week, using the fourth period on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from April through July.
