国際公共政策実践研究(International Field Workshop)

The International Field Workshop (IFW) scheduled for mid-August will move to a virtual format this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The overarching theme is “Strategic foresight in addressing public policy challenges in the post COVID-19 Asia.” The number of students allowed to participate will be limited up to about 10 due to the nature of the course involving a series of intensive discussion with the counterparts. If more than 10 students are willing to take this course, a pre-registration screening will be conducted before registration (S2 course registration period: June 9-15). GraSPP Office will take care of registration for those who are allowed to register—students cannot register via UTAS by themselves. For registration, please see Notes on Taking the Course section below. If the registration period with your school is different from GraSPP’s, please seek permission from your school office for registering in this course outside your school’s registration period. To help students better understand the objective and procedure, an information session, originally scheduled for early May, will take place on Wednesday, June 3 (12:30-13:00) via Zoom. URL to the Zoom meeting is <https://zoom.us/*****
This course will offer opportunities to exchange views and discuss with senior officials, management staff and experts in government agencies, international organizations, global business entities, NPOs, and research institutions in Asia with a view to helping students identify today’s societal challenges and design solutions. Students’ active participation is required throughout the course to lead discussion with professionals on public policy issues agreed upon at the planning stage. Networking with professionals is expected to help broaden students’ future career opportunities.
