授業の方法
This course is organized as a series of discussion sessions with senior officials, management staff and experts in government agencies, international organizations, global business entities, NPOs, and research institutions located in Asia. Students are required to be actively involved from the preparation stage and participate in discussion based on student different backgrounds, life-experiences, specialized knowledge and skills. Each student is also required to submit a report which should be well organized and articulated with a focus on how to fill the gap between each student's own specialized knowledge/skills and the social demand based on discussion during the field workshop. The report should propose an action plan to achieve one's professional goal in line with the expressed thoughts. Students should minimize a description of their own research while discussing how an interdisciplinary approach could potentially maximize the value of their own research in addressing challenges in the real world.

履修上の注意
Students willing to take this course need to pass a pre-registration screening to be held before the S2 registration period. To help students better understand the objective and procedure, an information session will be held in late April or in mid-May. The total number of students allowed to participate will be limited to about six due to the nature of the course involving a series of intensive on-site discussion. Students should check with the graduate school or program you are currently enrolled in whether financial support would be available. Registration for the course will be done by GraSPP Office so that you cannot register via UTAS by yourself. Please note that the GraSPP S2 registration period is in the middle of June. If the registration period in your schools is different from GraSPP’s, please seek permission from your school office for registering this course outside your school’s registration period.
