科学技術政策研究:政治学系(Institutions and Methods of Health Technology Assessment in Healthcare Policy)

・Students learn about Health Technology Assessment(HTA) institutions in the world and develop the HTA literacy with global standards, which is required for public policy-making and business in healthcare.
・A group of two or three students is asked to perform a short presentation regarding one institution assigned in advance (for example, NICE in the UK), and the presentation is followed by in-depth discussions.
・Several lectures, by skype or face-to-face, are provided by HTA experts in the world.

1) health care and insurance systems in the world: HTA for universal health coverage 2) principles and policy of HTA and the methods of pharmacoeconomics 3) HTA agencies in the world and the international comparison of its approach for decision making 4) group work for Canada or Australia:CADTH, PBAC 5) group work for UK:NICE 6) group work for France:HAS 7) group work for Germany:IQWiG and AMNOG 8) group work for Asia:selected countries such as Korea, Taiwan or Thailand 9) HTA policy in Japan:new institutionalization of HTA since 2019 10) invited lecture: data, training and CEA Registry in USA 11) invited lecture: research consulting for HTA in the world 12) invited lecture: ISPOR and value assessment framework 13) methods in depth: probabilistic sensitivity analysis, etc.

履修上の注意
・A group work with two or three students is required outside classroom hours to prepare for in-class presentation which talks about a summary review of one HTA institution/agency assigned in advance. ・A student who takes this course is eligible to apply for the HTA student trip to Europe, which makes a small number of students guided to HTA-related institutions/agencies in London and Paris in February or March 2021. More details of the trip will be announced in coming November.
