Software Studies
Tracing apps and filter bubbles, artificial intelligence and big data: software and algorithms permeate our daily life and deeply impact our society. In this seminar, we will discuss software and the technocultural, social and political contexts of its production and use from the perspective of the emerging interdisciplinary field of software studies.

After successfullly completing this course, participants will
- be able to analyze the interplay between software, programming and culture
- have a basic historical and technological understanding of public debates about software
- be familiar with current interdisciplinary approaches to the study of software
- be able to employ these perspectives in their own research.
