Contemporary Chinese Diplomacy
This course looks into the diplomacy of the People’s Republic of China. It discusses the development of Chinese diplomacy from the days of Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai to the current period. Important questions to be tackled include the policy process, especilly the linkage between internal politics

授業計画
Specific issues to be covered would include China's foreign and security policies, identity and diplomacy, Japan-China relations, US-China relations, regionalism in East Asia, etc.
授業の方法
At class, students will engage in discussion based on prior reading and lecture. From mid-term, students will prepare their own presentations on topics they choose in consultation with the teacher. At the end of the term, they will submit essays as results of their independent research.
成績評価方法
By presentation, contribution to the discussions, and essay.

Participating students will include those belonging to other graduate schools and the Faculty of Law.
