U.S. Diplomacy toward Asia
This is a seminar-style course that will address major themes relating to contemporary U.S. Diplomacy in Asia. The objectives of this course are the following: (A) to gain knowledge of U.S. foreign policy perspectives on contemporary issues in Asia, (B) to develop a realistic appreciation of the intricacies of U.S. foreign-policy making, and (C) to better understand the theory and practice of international relations in Asia.

授業の方法
The instructor will give a lecture on a designated topic toward the latter half of a session. Participants will be required to write a short reaction paper by the following week’s session based on the lecture. The first half of the following week’s session will be devoted to discussion based on the reaction papers.
成績評価方法
Contribution to class discussion, and short summaries and reaction papers for individual sessions.
