生物圏情報論

The class is organized as a discussion class, which is based on students' presentation after reading selected books and papers. We focus on "Rustbelt cities in the US" as the topic of this year, to discuss the role of urban green solutions (urban agriculture, urban forestry, green infrastructure) in a shrinking economy. In addition to the discussion in the campus, we visit some residential communities situated in far-suburban of Tokyo to know the challenges that depopulated community is facing. The below two books have been selected to read.

2) Dewar, M., & Thomas, J. M. (Eds.). (2012). The city after abandonment. University of Pennsylvania Press.

2019年度は輪読形式（特定のトピックに関連する書籍や論文を読み、それにもとづきプレゼンを行い議論する形式）の授業とする。米国のラストベルト都市（工業の衰退により著しく人口減少が進んだ都市）における緑地計画の役割について、関連する書籍・論文の輪読により理解を深める。また、首都圏遠郊の人口減少住宅地を見学し、米国の経験にもとづいた対応策も検討する。輪読の対象とする書籍は上記の２冊。
