Rice-based cropping systems in tropical Asia: research for development to extension (R4D2E) towards poverty alleviation
Course description:
The role of biological production science on the agricultural development, and the agro-biology for the rural development will be discussed in this one-day intensive program. Some of the on-going activities for the improvement of crop productivity and livelihood in rice-based systems in tropical Asia will be introduced, referring to prevailing abiotic stresses and the constraints on production.
Expected Learning:
To be able to express ideas and opinions on the agricultural technology and rural development based on biological science, and discuss these with others.

授業の方法
- Lecture Venue : Bld. 7B-Rm236/237 The participating students are assumed to have read the allotted chapter from Section I, III, and IV of the textbook (see below) before the lecture.
成績評価方法
Degree of proactive participation (30%), group presentation (30%) and report after the lecture (40%)
