Grades will be based on the summary note (50%) and the student presentation (50%).
Summary note: At the end of each lecture, students will be asked to write a summary of the lecture they have just heard. Write down anything you think important, in any format (word file or picture of your handwritings), any length, and any language (English or Japanese).
Student presentation
1. Select an empirical research article published in the last ten years from either AJAE, JEEM, JDE, or other top general journals (e.g., AER, JPE, REStat, etc).
2. Summarize the article in a short report (several pages in word or pdf format). The focus of analysis is methodology and should answer at least following questions: 1. Why this method? 2. What is a pros and cons of the method? 3. Is there alternative method?
