For sustainable use of nuclear power, it is mandatory to properly manage various radioacrtive wastes generated on it. In this lecture, students will systematically study foundations of radioactive waste management, including classification, storage, treatment and disposal of wastes. In particular, societal aspects of high-level radioactive wastes management will be focused in addition to its technological aspects such as vitrification and geological disposal. In addition, the close relationship between decommissioning and waste disposal as well as radionuclide analyses necessary for the evaluation of inventories of a given waste are also taught,
