建築情報学特論

The course explores the role of information in creative process.

This year, the focus is given on information that describes specificities of locality. It is commonly thought that we now are able to make approach to diverse information through digital technologies. However, it is also quite common to confront with the disparities in availability of locally specific information both in quantity and quality.

If we are to reread the place through creative eyes, how do we read/hear information from what is in front of ourselves? How can we establish deep and broad insights and for who and why do we establish such insights?

Memu Earth Lab (Initiative within UTokyo at Taiki, Hokkaido) as a case, we will explore how such approaches to information can become infrastructure for production of locally specific culture and value that is sustainable and responsible.

The course encourages students to step out into the field, out of their own knowledge and disciplines.
