Computational Design in Architecture

The main goal of this design studio is the development of architectural prototypes based on the investigation of material logic and fabrication systems. The students explore different materials and examine them both physically and digitally to understand their material properties and behaviors. The workshops are also designated as a time for students to learn digital tools such as 3D modelling and programming, which helps in developing physical prototypes at the end of the course.

成績評価方法
Assessment Criteria Final mark for this design studio is based upon a combination of individual student participation and final submission. Participation includes student’s attendance and active participation at all studio sessions and presentations. Assessment criteria for both participation and course submissions include: 1. demonstration of the understanding of the key concepts and ideas related to architectural design and research, included in lab discussions.
 2. demonstration of a clear formulation of the aims underlying the thesis and agenda, as verbally explained in studio presentations and contained in the studio submission. 3.
display of clearly documented analytic skills and reasoning, in studio presentations, discussions, and studio submission.
 4. clear structure, organization, and layout of the work in the studio submission, including precise and clear writing, use of good textual and bibliographic skills.
 5. demonstration of good judgment in the selection of research materials, documentation, and development of clear project graphics, including diagrams, photos and other materials.
