Special Lectures on Developmental Biology
Multicellular organisms basically start their life with a single-celled fertilized egg, and develop into adult with complex and functional body structures. Though it sounds simply a matter of cell divisions and differentiations, however, exact mechanisms and/or laws governing development still remain elusive. In this lecture series, pioneering scientists from variety of developmental fields will overview front lines of our current understandings, and then highlight what still remains to be solved. As you can see in the titles of lectures, we will cover variety of subjects, including molecular mechanisms, mechanical forces, evolutionary perspective, epigenetics, mathematical understandings and other viewpoints in the development and development-related fields.
