Theory of Social and Cultural Diversity I

A Guide to Studies in English Romanticism: New Perspectives
This course is designed as an intensive and updated guide to studies in English Romanticism today: it will focus, in particular, on the cultural and historical context of the Romantic period. Some basic information on English Romanticism is required (See Michael Ferber's Romanticism: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford UP) for an overview of European Romanticism in general). Exploring various perspectives for reading and understanding English Romanticism, the course will show the diversity and dynamics of English Romantic literature and suggest a possibility of advancing fresh interpretation of literary texts.
