The course will be given in English, including my brief introductory remarks, instructions, and questions. Although this may sound like a tall order to those whose mother tongue is not so, you will soon find out that language is not the real problem, for the challenge is to be logically sound and articulate.
This course will be offered online, using Zoom software. The URL is as follows.

Due to possible communication errors, the first meeting will be more of an attempt to connect to all of you, a process which may extend to our next meeting.
After a brief introduction to the agenda and academic literature, I will ask a number of questions, first of which are listed in this syllabus. The reading materials can be downloaded from the ITC-LMS portal site (https://itc-lms.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/*****). If you have difficulties in downloading the materials, please log in to the University of Tokyo Article Link at ejournal.dl.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp, and download the full text.
From June 18th to July 9th, you must conduct your own research on the conflict listed on this this syllabus, and prepare your own answer to the provided questions. You will be asked to prepare for a group presentation in class by power point slides. The class will be divided into groups of no more than 6 students (chosen arbitrary by the instructor).
