Japanese Society and History
本講義の主たるテーマは、現代日本の諸問題について人口、家族、ジェンダー、労働市場、教育等に着目しながら戦後日本の変化を中心に概括することにある。本授業の目的は、現代日本についての基礎知識を学び、理解を深めることにある。
The main topics which will be discussed in this course includes demography, gender and family, labor market, and education in the post-war Japan. Our goal is to provide students with basic knowledge and understanding about contemporary Japan.

授業の方法
Several social issues in contemporary Japan will be discussed in this course. Active discussions are encouraged during the class.
成績評価方法
Grades for the course will be based on (1) attendance and contribution to the class (30%), and presentations about own topic (20%), and the final paper (50%).

References will be introduced during the class.
