Numerical Analysis for Material Sciences Ⅱ
(Course Objectives)
We aim to learn mathematical and algorithmic foundations of practical application programs in material sciences, and to learn how large systems are capable with current computer resources. In addition, we also learn the techniques for parallelization, performance improvement, and efficient development of a program code from those application programs. If necessary, we also modify and execute those program codes in the practices.
(Course Overview)
Taking frequently used application programs in material sciences, such as Exact diagonalization, Molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo method, and First-principles calculations, as lecture materials, we learn the basic theory of physics, numerical algorithms, and the techniques in the practical implementation of the program code. Several topics related to the computational sciences will also be given.
